Synopsis

A radio transmits that Havana and nearby towns have fallen. Hundreds of young people dance in a bunker and a man whispers verses from the Bible at a railway station. Life explodes on a night of death.

The Cemetery Lightens screens on Sunday, February 9 at 1:30 pm, preceding the feature film Timeless Havana.

About the Director

Luis Alejandro Yero is a Cuban filmmaker graduated in Documentary from the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) of San Antonio de los Baños. His short films have been awarded internationally at a dozen film festivals such as Mar del Plata, FICUNAM and Havana, as well as being presented by more than 35 countries in the programming of IDFA, Sheffield, Jihlava, Jeonju, Thessaloniki, Olhar de Cinema, Documenta Madrid, the Lincoln Center of New York and at the Cervantes Institute of several cities such as Tokyo, Vienna, Rio de Janeiro, Bremen, Sofia and Bucharest.
