Synopsis

Nine-year-old Shane seems to be wandering the streets of Toronto alone, but he is on a secret mission that is too important to fail. He has one last thing to do before his mother finds out that he’s been suspended from school.

About the Director

Born to Guyanese parents, award-winning filmmaker Karen Chapman has screened her work everywhere from subway displays, airplanes and hospital lounges to international festivals, classrooms, living rooms and mobile devices. A graduate of Emily Carr University, she is also an alumna of the Banff Centre and a Hot Docs Accelerator Fellow. Karen is an alumnae of the Director’s Lab at the Canadian Film Centre and is preparing to shoot her first feature film, Village Keeper, through Telefilm Canada’s Talent to Watch Program. Chapman has also been named one of Playback Magazine’s 5 filmmakers to watch for 2018.
